Julian Van Dyke is bringing his literary works to the stage as well. He is producing a play adapted from this latest book and his Juneteenth, Celebrating Freedom & children’s book.

The play is being directed by Ellison Hall, a well-known young actor currently completing 9th grade at Waverly High School, and assistant director Janell Hall (Mother and Son).

The play will be performed Saturday, June 29 at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Friendship Baptist Church, 2912 Pleasant Grove Rd., Lansing.

People lucky enough to live in the greater Lansing area or are here visiting have an opportunity right now to see sixty works of art created by Van Dyke at the Capital Area District Library where three, soon to be four of his current books are available.

Van Dyke’s art will also be on exhibit in REO Town, Lansing the entire month of June. The Greater Lansing Literacy Commission is also a passion of Van Dyke’s. He likes to help kids develop reading readiness so they can explore the world and their interests.
