As we turn the page to November, holiday season kicks into high gear. This month features a slew of holiday-themed things to do.
America’s Thanksgiving Parade will take to the streets of Downtown Detroit on Thanksgiving Day, November 28.
The festivities get underway at 9 a.m. with a lineup that includes colorful floats, dance teams, high soaring balloons and booming marching bands making their way down Woodward.
The parade is preceded by an annual Turkey Trot.
A variety of races are on the slate with many dressed in costume for those events.
Often declared “The Parade before The Parade”, participants frolic near the biggest spectator crowd in Michigan.
As they say, it's an awesome way to start Thanksgiving Day — a turkey day tradition here in Detroit.
Another festive attraction of the season is Brighton’s Holiday Glow.
That one begins Saturday, November 23 and has a real family-friendly feel.
The city’s Christmas Market has a petting farm, kids games and tasty treats.
Don’t miss world class women’s tennis in Mid Michigan! The Dow Tennis Classic returns to Midland Nov. 3-10.
The tournament will feature world-ranked WTA pros in action at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.

Motor City Comic Con will be on the marquee November 8-10 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.

Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti is the place to be for Riverside Swings Friday nights in November, from 9 to 11:30 p.m.
