Authentic! Yes, truly authentic Mexican cuisine. What’s the difference you say? Well, you’ve got to try it for yourself and then you’ll know for sure. It’s the best tasting, and made fresh.

ELCf13d70f1 a927 46f2 8841 d7f4aa09f211Family owned, the El Chaparrito serves recipe favorites from home. Opened in 2018 in south Lansing, the Taqueria moved to the current location on the 28th of August in 2020. The original inspiration for having a restaurant was the rave reviews given by friends and work colleagues when they would get to enjoy homemade dishes made with meats like Barbacoa.

The delicious dishes served here taste like you’re dining in Mexico. In fact, a diner recently mentioned “it’s just like eating in Mexico”. People can taste the difference because of the care, freshness and ingredients that are so uniquely authentic. Take the amazing Birria Tacos Dinner that’s crafted from shredded beef with melted cheese on freshly made corn tortillas, topped with cilantro and onion and served with a side of dipping beef broth. All the dishes are as appealing to the eyes as they are to the tastebuds.

The menu is extensive with kid’s meal options, and it’s written in English and well as Spanish. Since the food is made fresh with most everything made from scratch, even simple things like the hot sauces are exceptionally good. They also offer vegetarian and vegan versions – just ask.

Taqueria El Chaparrito offers take-home desserts like flan and dulce le leche plus others. The bakery case is right by the hosting stand when you come in. There’s also a chalkboard there listing the daily specials.

Diners at El Chaparrito love to come here for the excellent cuisine, the hospitality, and the specialty cocktails and drinks. There’s music whether from the enormous TV planning Mexican music, or the banquet center with stage featuring DJ and Live Music events. The 50-person capacity banquet space is also available for meetings. There’s even a mechanical bull to ride or rent.

El Chaparrito has a very popular catering service people request over and over again. Call to learn more 517-574-3020 or 517-580-8912.

When you pull into the parking lot of Taqueria El Chaparrito you’ll see the restaurant storefront with overhead signage, and cactus in the front. What isn’t as visible is how spacious and even more inviting the restaurant is on the inside. This is definitely a place you don’t want to miss.
